Meet the Two Tree Team!
I’m Stefanie DeFiglia, founder of Two Tree Integrative Health. I received my professional training at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, consistently ranked one of the best nursing schools in the country. I have over 17 years of clinical experience. For the first 5 years of my career (as a National Health Service Corps scholar), I worked in community health in Washington, DC. I worked in a variety of settings: with children and adults in community health centers, in homeless shelters, and in a mobile outreach van. I spent the next 9 years in geriatrics and long term care, caring for frail and vulnerable adults all over Maryland and DC. I loved my patients and felt privileged to care for them. However, I became increasingly frustrated by our health care system.
I followed best practices. I knew all the guidelines for treating chronic conditions. My employers said I had “great patient outcomes.” (Which basically means having good numbers on bloodwork and prescribing the recommended medications.) But did that mean my patients were in ideal health? Of course not. There was so much more to do. But my days were packed with too many patients to see and way too much documentation to do. I had no time to dig deeper in order to find the root of the problem. I had no time to provide the kind of education my patients needed. This was not the kind of care I wanted to provide.
I found Functional Medicine and recognized that this approach to healthcare could make a real impact on our community. It reignited the passion I have for helping people feel their best. I committed to learning these principals and completed professional training through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). I am so very grateful for the opportunity to share this powerful healing tool with you!
Ready to make a change? The first step is to make an appointment, so you can tell us more about yourself.

Valynne Robotham is an Administrative Assistant and Health Coach at Two Tree Integrative Health.
Valynne and her husband Paul moved to Easton in 2020 and after years of work and travel in the US, they were ready to settle into life on the eastern shore of MD. Valynne had always been active and was a frequent yoga practitioner, but over the past few years her health began to decline. She was dealing with serious autoimmune issues and reached out to Stefanie shortly after their move. She was frustrated with her symptoms and the lack of help and support from conventional medicine. Working with Stefanie, she saw a huge improvement in just a few months. She started sleeping through the night again and shed a lot of weight. Her anxiety levels dropped, and her mind became clearer. She got hooked on functional (holistic, integrative) health and started consuming any information she could find on the topic. She casually mentioned to Stefanie that she would love to get some professional training.
Valynne had a background in the medical field (Mental Health, Eldercare, Medical Management, etc.) but this new (to her) functional medicine approach was a revelation and she wanted to be a part of it. Stefanie suggested a course for coaches that was created in collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine known as the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy.
When Stefanie needed administrative support for Two Tree Integrative Health at the start of 2023, Valynne jumped at the chance. She completed the FMCA (Functional Medicine Coaching Academy) certification course in March of 2024 and will be taking the NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach) exam in November of ’24.
Valynne is overjoyed with this new direction her life has taken and looks forward to meeting you. She will be assisting members with scheduling, visit check-ins, social media, and general office support; while also honing her skills as a Functional Medicine Health Coach. Valynne is passionate about helping our members achieve their health goals and supporting them along this journey.
Feel free to say hello when you see her in the office or online.

Barb Stacy is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, who joined the team in June 2023. She coaches patients virtually through our telehealth platform and in-person on occasion when she is in Easton.
Barb grew up witnessing firsthand the impact of chronic disease on the individual patient and their family. In her experience, having a support system made all the difference, inspiring her to pay forward that support in her career of 25+ years in training and organization development across various corporate, government and volunteer sectors. In 2019 she found herself longing for a way to combine her passions for health and wellness, advocating for others, and education in a new career. She embarked on the journey to become a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach.
Barb brings to our team a diverse background as an adult educator, leadership and team developer, public speaker, and former restorative yoga and Pilates teacher. Her compassionate-coaching philosophy is based on the belief that everyone brings value, and she works to empower others to build the habits to support the life they want to live – leveraging personal strengths for personal growth!
Barb and her husband Ed, split their time between Western Maryland and Easton, MD. When she’s not coaching, you can find her being creative in the kitchen, learning something new, taking a walk, or spending time with her husband and rescue cat Coco.

Derek Benedicto joined our team in August 2023 and is in charge of scheduling patient appointments, sending lab orders, and assisting in social media posts for Two Tree Integrative Health.
Derek works remotely from the Philippines, where he is also a registered nurse. He started his healthcare career back in 2019 after he graduated and passed the nursing licensure exam. Next, he proceeded to work in a private hospital as a staff nurse. Unfortunately, when COVID hit, it was time for him to explore new ways to help patients and pursue his career from an at-home setting. He found his niche as a virtual scribe back in 2021, where he worked for 2 years at a traditional medical clinic also based in the US. His passion to continue helping patients while adapting to being in a virtual healthcare setting, is a testament to his unwavering commitment in assisting providers and delivering quality care in the ever-evolving landscape of medicine.
Derek lives in a small island in the Philippines called Negros Occidental. When he’s not working, you will find him out and about, especially on weekends. He enjoys spending time with his family, going on beach trips, mountain hikes, camping, and other outdoor activities.
